About The Song

Sparrows

Grammy-nominated and Dove Award-winning artist Cory Asbury releases “Sparrows” from his latest album To Love A Fool. The album was birthed out of a year-long sabbatical, seen in the vulnerable worship and honest reflections that accompanied that time. “Sparrows” is a reminder that the Father always takes care of His kids, and that He knows what we need before we even ask.

He knows what we need before we even ask.

About The Artist

Cory Asbury

Fueled with a passion to see people encounter the love of the Father, Cory Asbury is a songwriter, singer, speaker, author and worship leader who joined the Bethel Music Collective in May of 2015. Cory is known for his hit single “Reckless Love,” a song nominated for a Grammy in 2019 after winning two GMA Dove Awards and two K-Love Fan Awards in 2018. After taking a year off to rest with his family in 2019, Cory is back on the scene with new projects, songs, and a deeper revelation of the Father’s heart. Cory and his family live in Kalamazoo, Michigan where he serves as a worship pastor and artist in residence.

Publishing & Lyrics

Verse 1

The sparrow’s not worried ‘bout tomorrow

Or the troubles to come

The lily’s not thinking ‘bout the seasons

The drought or the flood

A tree that’s planted by the water

Isn’t fazed by the fire

So why should I be

Chorus

‘Cause You take good care of me

You take good care of me

You know what I need before I even ask a thing

You hold me in Your hands

With a kindness that never ends

I’m carried in Your love no matter what the future brings

You take good care of me

Verse 2

The sun’s not worried ‘bout the winter

‘Cause soon it will pass

The light’s not thinking ‘bout the darkness

Or the shadow it casts

A heart that’s planted in forgiveness

Doesn’t dwell in the past

So why should I be

Bridge

I know there must be more

But I can’t get past Your kindness

I know there’s got to be more

But I can’t get past Your goodness
